This was an interesting book. Although it began somewhat slowly… it was a bit dry in the beginning, and it took about six or seven chapters for me to get completely invested in the characters and the story … but once that happened, it grabbed me and didn’t let go. This book is part science fiction and part government conspiracy, with an unapologetic young man at the heart of the story, unwilling to compromise or back down from the truth… but how much of that truth is real, and how much is fabricated by those around him? And, most importantly, when the answer shows up, does he share it or allow the masses to believe what they will without his intervention?
Filled with speculation about alien visitation and how a society perceives the threat or the gift of that appearance, and a convincing story line that makes you think, “How close is this possibility to reality?” This is a narrative that will lure you in with its technology, political disquiet, and an interesting viewpoint on the world’s media and their management of a story. Yet the deeper story is the tenacity of the three main characters and their drive to remain authentic not only as individuals, but also as a team.
